The 2008. annual International Battodo Federation taikai was held on the 24th of November 2008, in Yokohama. About 95 participants took part in this prestigious event. The competition took place in Tsurumi Sport Center in the northern part of Yokohama. The seminar with the IBF instructors, as well as the yudansha examination, were organized before the competition. The taikai participants also had the opportunity to enjoy the trip to Aizu-wakamatsu city, the historical stronghold of the bushi traditions. The visit included bushi residential house, old samurai school, the castle, as well as several other spots.
The representative of Serbia, Darko Gedelovski, Nakamura Ryu Battodo 3. dan, took part in the taikai and made the great succes. Mr Gedelovski took the third place in the kata competition. This result of Mr Gedelovski also represents an important succes for Iaido and Battodo Federation of Serbia, and confirms its authentic approach to Nakamura school of Battodo.
